Rodents
Rodents can cause a variety of issues including contamination of food, damage to electrical wires and perhaps most concerning, they can destroy your peace of mind and sense of security when you detect them in your home. Recognition of a rodent problem is not necessarily a reflection of one’s cleanliness. It is a by-product of living in the Pacific Northwest and requires expertise and care to manage.
Spiders
Common spider species found in the Pacific Northwest are unlikely to cause life-threatening bites. However if venom is injected with the bite, symptoms can range from minor to severe including itching, rash, nausea, vomiting and fever, and in rare cases more severe reactions including death.
Ants
Ants can be a nuisance and very difficult to self-treat. Some can even cause structural damage to your home, which is why it’s important to properly diagnose ant infestations and treat immediately. Stop Bugging Me Pest Control has devoted a great deal of resources and time in developing our ant treatment processes along with educating our expert technicians to keep them on the cutting-edge of ant biology and control.
Termites
Termites are a wood-destroying insect so they can do a significant amount of damage to your home. The most common termite species found in the Pacific Northwest are dampwood termites and subterranean termites. Areas of high risk in Washington include Bellevue, Bothell, Des Moines, Edmonds, Federal Way, Issaquah, Kirkland, Seattle and more.
Stinging Pests
Stinging pests include yellow jackets, bald faced hornets, paper wasps, and mud dauber wasps. Stinging pests can be a nuisance in and around the home, and can present health complications for those that are allergic.
Common nesting sites include ceiling beams in attics, garages and sheds, and under porches. Many of these areas can be hard to reach for at-home solutions. Stop Bugging Me Pest Control technicians have the proper tools and expertise to eliminate nests. It is also important to call a professional if you are allergic to stings as at-home remedies can often aggravate bees and wasps, and cause them to swarm and become very aggressive.
Cockroaches
A thorough initial treatment will utilize a combination of some or all of the following techniques:
- Treatment to all cockroach harborages, cracks and crevices, and wall voids
- Baiting near roach food sources
- Physical removal and disposal of roaches by vacuuming
- Placement of glue traps for additional monitoring
After the initial visit, we will provide a thorough follow-up service included at no additional charge. Your Stop Bugging Me Pest Control technician will inspect for remaining cockroaches, treat any areas of harborage where eggs may have hatched after the initial service, and get rid of any remaining roaches that are still present.
Fleas
Fleas are external parasites that feed on the blood of mammals and birds. Fleas can transmit bacterial diseases and they are the most common transmitters of the rare Bubonic Plague. The saliva from fleas can also cause Flea Allergy Dermatitis in pets and even humans. Infants are particularly at risk of this allergic reaction. Fleas can also transfer tapeworms. That is why it is important to deal with them sooner than later.
Other Pests
Common bug species found in the Pacific Northwest include bed bugs, beetles, cockroaches, firebrats, fleas, flies, moths, silverfish and springtails.
